Our
Team

We believe in the power of collaboration and a fresh perspective. Unlike many of our competitors, we are actively involved in the day-to-day decisions of the business and work alongside our operators to help achieve each of our businesses’ goals.

Mark MacPherson
Co-Founder

Born and raised on the right coast, Mark graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in 1997 and started his finance career with Export Development Canada in Ottawa.  In 2000, he moved to Toronto to join the investment bank at BMO Capital Markets.  In what seemed like a blink of an eye, years of debt & equity financings, M&A, and a 3-year stint in Melbourne Australia, seemed to dissolve into memory.

Mark co-founded Argyle with Neil Mohammed in the spring of 2016, with the guiding principle of trying to do things a little differently in the private equity space.

When Mark is not chasing his three young children around, he enjoys turning the pedals on one of his N+1 bike collection, skiing / snowboarding, and the guilty pleasure of American muscle cars.

Neil Mohammed
Co-Founder

Growing up in Winnipeg, Neil graduated from University of Manitoba before moving to Waterloo, Ontario for graduate school. Since then, he served over two decades in finance, including 18 years in BMO’s Investment Banking division in both Toronto and New York.  While at BMO, he advised a wide cross-section of corporate Canada with BMO’s Project Finance, Leveraged Finance and Debt Capital Markets teams.  At Argyle, Neil spends most of his time managing the portfolio and working closely with the management teams at Argyle’s partner companies.

Outside of the office, Neil can be found cheering on the Toronto Raptors, Amanda Nunes or The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Glenn Gatcliffe
Partner

Hailing from Trinidad and Tobago, Glenn ended up at McGill University for an MBA and proceeded to marry the love of his life from Montréal.  He landed a job in investment banking at BMO Capital Markets and moved to Toronto in 2000.  After working for two banks, 20 years and ridiculous frequent flyer points, he has finally crossed the street.

Joining the team at Argyle is part of the dream to own and operate amazing private businesses. He hopes to bring his experience and love for agriculture to a transaction one day.

Glenn may have started riding his gravel bike and running a little late in life but it allows him to keep up with his two children.  He spends every free minute thinking about his next deep-sea fishing adventure or spending time at the Farm with his wife and the family Wheaton Terrier.

Meredith Thompson
Junior Partner

Following four years in Kingston, ON attending Queen’s University, Meredith moved to Toronto and began her career in EY’s Private Client Services Assurance practice, where she completed her CPA designation. Meredith then joined EY’s Corporate Finance division where she provided transaction advisory services to private businesses contemplating mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, capital-raising activities and restructuring.

After eight years at EY, Meredith joined Argyle in 2021 and is involved in all aspects of deal origination and execution, as well as monitoring and reporting on portfolio companies.

Having spent more time on snow than in school during the winters growing up, you can find Meredith skiing on weekends, attending a concert in the city or spending time with family and friends.

Jordan Hill
Senior Associate

Jordan grew up in the small town of Delhi, Ontario, where he discovered his passion for business at a young age by starting his own road-side sweet corn stand at the age of 9. After his short-lived farming dream fizzled out, he went on to attend Wilfrid Laurier University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, specializing in accounting.
Upon completing his undergrad in 2018, Jordan joined Ernst & Young’s Assurance practice, where he obtained his CPA. Later, he transitioned to EY’s Corporate Finance team, providing transaction advisory services to mid-market clients on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and capital-raising activities.
After spending more than 5 years at EY, Jordan joined Argyle in 2023, where he is involved in all aspects of deal origination and execution, as well as monitoring and reporting on portfolio companies.
In his free time, Jordan enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing golf (although he admits his game needs improvement), and being an avid sports fan.
