Mark MacPherson co-founded Argyle Capital Partners in 2016 with Neil Mohammed, guided by a shared belief that disciplined investing, deep alignment, and a credit-oriented mindset could differentiate a lower middle-market private equity firm in Canada.

 Originally from Nova Scotia, Mark graduated from St. Francis Xavier University and began his career with Export Development Canada in Ottawa before joining BMO Capital Markets in Toronto in 2000. Over 16 years in investment banking, he advised clients on mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, and leveraged finance transactions, including several years based in Melbourne covering the metals and mining sector.

At Argyle, Mark focuses on partnering with management teams to build durable businesses through operational improvement, strategic acquisitions, and thoughtful capital deployment.

Outside the office, he is a husband and father of three, and enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and American muscle cars.
